Jerry Garrison – Drums

Jerry hails from the Southern Tier region of New York State and began learning drums at age 10, performing with a drum & bugle corps until aging out, then became an instructor. His “big break” came when he was fortunate to join his uncle’s well known country band. They were successful and, “I learned from those ‘old guys in their 40’s, on musicianship and how to perform for your audience”. Jerry went on to play in several bands over the years, from rock, country, blues, and some jazz. Some influences were versatile top session drummers, Hal Blaine and Eddie Bayers, and favorite, Danny Seraphine from the band, Chicago.

After retiring a few years ago and relocating to the Low Country, Jerry worked with a guitarist as a duo for about three years, playing everything from blues/country/classic rock/R&B/oldies. “What’s attractive about Front Porch Rockers is not only playing songs we all know and love, but doing some tunes maybe not as recognizable to everyone, but still great classic rock”.
